Thank you for all the wonderful comments, and of course for the thumbprint and the hand.

The title evolved over a three day period of changing the submitted one quite a number of times, so I'm glad it ended up being noticed.

the Byzantine figure here is the one with the flowerpot left arm and the wooden bucket right foot. oh, and then there is that old South African song, We are marching to Byzantium.

There's also something Byzantine about the look of the image.

Poem is about not fitting in and traveling somewhere in an attempt to fit in somewhere else. So, the phot fits IMHO.

Congratulations on the well deserved bling. A terrific catch and the title makes us pause and smile.

I think Mr. Everywhere has nailed it. Photo is stupendous; title is genius. I feel inspired to go out and make a photo that I can similarly title.

This is the best photograph in the challenge. Not quite my highest score, because I can't make the connection to Byzantium. But that's very likely my problem, not yours. Anyway, it's a brilliant photograph; original and witty, and ultimately more entertaining than all of the other fifty-seven entries combined. 9. Thank you.

I don't get it... Interesting processing, I will have to check back and see how you did that.
As far as the photo itself goes, I think the composition is good but it could have been better to have the woman positioned in between the people walking rather that butted up against two of them when viewed two-dimensionally.
