A surprising ribbon!

There were a couple of comments about the blur - this is kind of straight out of the lens blur. This lens at minimum focus distance has a DOF of 6mm. I purposefully selected it to do that job.

I could've decided to get the eye in focus, but if it was it would have dominated and I needed the zip tag to hold centre stage.

I did add some structure to the image which I think add to the perception of rapid fall off of focus - i.e. the in focus areas are super-crisp which emphasises the adjacent blur. No software blur was added but I did remove some structure from the periphery to get rid of the banding you get when you add lots of structure to an image.

Thanks for the votes and comments.

beautiful
the blur is made too crudely, but the eye makes the shot - and yes, it's in a zipper challenge!

I like the fact that you wanted to use selective focus on the zipper whilst keeping the rest out of focus, but can't help but feel like the blurring was overdone and could be smoother. The contrast is really nice, though and I enjoy her expression.

I wish you'd managed it that the zipper pull AND just the eye were in focus. That would have been... brilliant!

Love the choice of BW.

Very good tones and the way the focus falls off looks great. Rarely does a close-up photo of a face look good without the eyes in focus, but this works well.
