I had to google your title..... it is a drug..... still don't get the REAL connection to "shadows". I see an good example for "framing" and b&w.
Since I am not into shoehorns, I will give this one a generous 4..... two of those points are for the mystery/mistery your image presents.

Very dramatic enviornment, and bold use of lots of black to offset the mostly bright foggy area. I like it.
