This bear standing tall is 90º perpendicular to the ground level. His position is 90º perpendicular to his normal pose. He is parallel to the tree, but his arm is bent at a right angle.

I love our bears. This guy was about my height. I think about 350# and maybe 5 years old. Somewhere in Colorado is the location. Canon 5Dmk3, Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM, f/5.6, 1/250s, ISO 1600, lens focal length 400mm., tripod mount, shutter release cable. From about 120' distance. 09/12/14 9:43am.

I understand voters were looking for a man made something from the city. This image did not meet their preconceived notion of right angle. It's all okay.

Thanks for your comment. Black bears (the species) avoid human contact. They run the other way when encountering a human. Totally gentle and mostly vegetarian. Not to be confused with grizzlies, brown bears and polar bears farther north. Those species do stalk humans, when they get a chance.
I'm not certain you have comforted me, but i appreciate the lesson very much. My rule will still be "if see bear, run and don't try to classify it!"

Wow!

I can almost hear his thoughts!

But... I suspect that if I showed you this image... and... asked you to give me thirty two-word descriptions of this image... "right angle" would not be one of them.

I hope I'm wrong.

Bear stands at right angle to normal pose.

I see a really cute, fluffy bear, but I don't see the right angles.

Nice shot of a bear, but it doesn't seem to suit this theme.

Cool - not too many right angles in nature, well captured.
Good job keeping detail in the black bear without overexposing the rest.
