This challenge was supposed to be a candid shot. You don't understand the circumstances and you are out of line to criticize this situation. Also, it was taken at high elevation, so the light is often harsh because there is little pollution and humidity to diffuse light.

I think a longer lens would have made the most of this scene - including the man on the left's whole body is a good move, including the regular dressed people and the pop-up canopies is a bad move.

A tighter composition with shallower depth of field would have made the most out of their traditional dress and ceremonial gear, without the junk.
