Serene and moving, but the smart-ass in me is having difficulty resisting the temptation to comment about a stellar self portrait. Fun to see you on the front page.

Well, I'll be... I'd love to offer a warm, witty, and insightful essay, but I'll just stick with "this makes me smile". I will add, however, that the prickly bit off to the right is somehow a stern message, even sterner than that of your title, making sure that we all understand the significance of this marvelous beast.

Oh, and nice going with that ribbon thingie.

A favorite of mine......the plight of these beautiful giants is terribly sad, and your image touched on those emotions for me. Congrats on the ribbon.

Congratulations on another wonderful photograph. It's great to see one of yours on the front page. But it's always great to see one of yours. On any page.

I am flabbergasted that this is your first ribbon. Great shot, I love elephants. I also love the title.

Paul, you might want to change the subject now that you got so much appreciation. Something became fishy.
After all the elephant pictures, I would like you to turn your iphone around and show us (me) the place where you stand, where you eat your breakfast, your lunch (oh, and yes, I am quite a good cook or I won't be called an "artist") or the corner of your street.
Are you that close to Kruger Park? You must understand that even that Central Park has more bird species that Yellowstone, living in NYC still makes me still a city mouse with immense curioisty.

Everything about this is perfect: the subject, the pp'g, who took it, what he shot it with, and where it ended up :)

Congrats, Paul. Everything Bear said in his comment.

Front page, ribbon shot of an elephant's posterior, center-middle composition with heavy dark vignette on the edges. Wow! Congratulations on your ribbon. It's a masterpiece!
