 Oh my, oh my. I've been watching my score sink, slowly but surely, all day - right up to the last vote with very few exceptions. From 7.2051 at 78 votes to 7.1161 at 112 votes. Haven't even looked at the final score. I was hoping for a ribbon, maybe even a red since I don't have one, but I never expected the blue. Thank you all.

This was a magic evening - a magic weekend, for that matter - and I'm thrilled to have this photo please so many. I took this when I was on vacation at White Sands, New Mexico. I was looking southwest. You're supposed to be out of the park at sunset and my husband and I had hiked back in quite a way for us, trying to get away from all the messy footprints and sled tracks; and I was afraid they were going to tow our car and leave us stranded plus give us a ticket or something. But I couldn't quit taking pictures. I had my husband go on ahead to the car - figured maybe he could talk them out of the tow or the ticket - and I shot and ran, shot and ran. This was actually relatively early and I was still on a tripod; at the end, it was all handheld. The sky was just glorious.

One of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen of White Sands. I used to live quite near and spent a lot of time there. Congratulations...well done!

What a beautiful photograph! I've been to White Sands a few times, and is of my favorite places on earth. This is one of the best photos I've seen taken there. Congratulations on the blue.

I'm also thrilled this won Nikki. Hill gradations are one of my favourite genres as shown with my 10. There's hope yet for simple and elegant scapes here.

So for me here is the blunt of my critique. Prepare...LOL. How the hell are we supposed to compete with this. LOL. Great image, and one I can seriously not find anything to critique. The image is beautiful, and the light is magical. I would of loved to have been there, I hope you took time to absorb the moment, and appreciate gods good grace. Good luck. One of my top choices.
