I've decided I hate these "gem" challenges. How do you go back one, or two, or more, years and choose "the best". It's totally "Sophie's Choice". I have so many images I love from different genres I love to shoot: abandoned stuff, architectural, portraits, and of course, my peeps and pets.

The latter is possibly "MY" thing above all others, and finally I decided to enter one. I don't know if this is the best one, but it is SO representative of what I do, I felt it was the best choice.

You've seen Carly previously on DPC. She (and her many rescues) have posed for me at least 6 times. Sadly, she moved out of L.A. and will no longer be available for pet shoots.

This photo actually IS a photobomb by mom on the right. The original was meant to be only Carly and the lamb :)

[POST CHALLENGE]

So happy this did as well as it has. I knew landscapes would rule this challenge, so it was a calculated risk.

FYI, these are not goats, but sheep. Yes, I know mama totally looks like a goat, but she's not. She's a Barbados sheep.

OHHHH you totally fooled me, Had no idea you were the goat Lady!! ONE of my highest scores... Where did you find goats in LA... Ok that sounded like a total I've never been to the big city girl statement!

I didn't get to this one - it would have been one of my top picks because it's so cheerful and full of life.

It just wouldn't of been the same without 'mom' she was the star and so was the title!

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 9s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Huge fun!
2. Glorious colours.
3. Excellent timing.
4. Great goats!
5. Lovely model.

Overall, a wondrous conflation of circumstance. Excellent result.

Our pet whisperer strikes again! The colors are so well chosen and the feel of a snap shot because of the "intruder" is adorable!

What a marvelous combination of lighting, expression, humor and color. Good image to pull out for students who need to learn that simple backgrounds can still be interesting, and that color relationships can be introduced without hitting the viewer over the head with them. Predicting a high score.
