Just want you to know that this is a very good entry and very well executed. Keep it up. Believe me, the image has a lot of power.

Great sharpness and lighting, though exaggerated blur effect on hand

Great lighting and tones. The back of his hand seems unusually blurry. Did you do some PS work on it or something? Great image.

Dramatic composition and brilliant use of color and levels creates a shot with substantial tension in it. I like it a lot and it's among my top picks.

Gripping. I like the mood, tones, and skin texture. What happened to the focus on the back of the hand?

i think i might be prepared to guess who this is, Mr Alci. even if i'm wrong, it certainly has that very particular style which for bodily pictures works very well. i love the tones you've used (not quite sepia, kind of green aren't they?) and as per the norm, it all works very well. the only slight criticism is that it appears a slightly over liberal use of neatimage (or similar) has been applied in the region of the hand. still, a very dramatic, tense and attention grabbing shot. 8.

Mmmm, excellent tonal range and exposure. Only thing is it seems over neatimaged on the top of his hand? 9

Stunning- wonderful sepia tone too. I like how the image fills a diagonal space from one corner to the other and the opposite two corners are filled with negative space.

Great, theres just one thing that looks strange on my monitor.
The fingers look sharp but the hand looks blurred, not out of focus but blurred.
Strange...

Great shot but whats going on with the upper hand? Why is it so smooth compared to the rest of this rough image? That alone is very distracting though the pic and lighting is great. 7.

wonderful light and texture (good title too) it is very strong and calls you back for a second look, the mark of a good image for me

I like the mood you've set with the low key lighting... top of hand looks odd (could be my monitor or perhaps a bit too blurry?) Certainly different subject -- thanks for providing it.

The blurriness of the back of the hand is not natural, right? I think it's slightly overdone.

Lovely use of light and shadow to really emphasise shape and texture. Strong composition too.

The glistening skin of the shoulder, neck, and fingers is excellent, but there's something weird going on with the back of the hand. Both the alien blurry texture and the unnatural shadow boundary of the hand detract a lot from an otherwise superb photo - 5

I've been doing a lot of toned black and whites lately, so I know how hard it is to get the contrast and exposure just right. This looks fantastic. The back of the hand seems a little fuzzy, but that may be from the conversion to a dpc sized jpeg. I'm not sure what the final score will be, but I'm thinking 7-8 range.
