As soon as this challenge was announced I knew I wanted to do something using the Topaz Simplify filter. Then the rains came, and I knew the streams would be running, which is a great match with that tool because of the way it makes running water look like its painted with brush strokes. A break in the rains came, so I headed out to Samuel P. Taylor State Park, where I knew this section of the stream, conveniently located near the road, would be running. Bracketed some long exposures so I had a variety to work with. (Also did a grab shot of a fern that I didn't like for this challenge, but ended up entering in Botany just cuz I had it).
This starts with the oil painting preset in Simplify, then a bunch of adjustments and tweaks from there. The trick with that tool (for DPC) is to apply the filter after resizing, because the effect disappears otherwise. Made some LR adjustments and then added a little NIK at rull size, then resized to 2400px to apply the Topaz filter, followed by some adamus sharpening.
