Mama black bear, Ursus americanus. She was nursing two cubs. She had just climbed into a Ponderosa Pine. She napped there for the day and then continued foraging for food at night.

The textures are wonderful - from the bark (I can almost smell its vanilla-butterscotch scent, too.) to her fur. Her pose is relaxed, but she is clearly aware of you. Impressive image in my opinion.
