Thanks for the PH bling and comments. To jjbeguin, it was not staged. It was rush hour with quite a few people out on the streets. I was out looking for images for the Flare and jjbeguin themes (my Flare entry was taken about 30 feet from this spot). This gentleman stopped to admire the sculpture for a few moments. His crossed legs caught my eye. Looks like I should have cropped some of the bottom -- thanks for the suggestion.

Superb image, Mark (8 from me). I love the old fashioned and leisurely appearance of your time traveler. I'm with Don thinking that this centered composition adds to the impact.

I beg to differ. Tilting the camera differently, which is what jj suggested, might have worked or might not. Cropping out the bottom will only diminish this photo.

Really nice, but too much wasted foreground space to give it more than a 7.

Too perfect. Still, he does look like a time traveler.

A grand classic revisited, fun and fetching. the dead center character is perfect there. A slight tilt up to get a little less pavement and a little more of this chicagoan massacre on top would not change much but would fit everything a little more neatly in the frame.
A great shot in any case. Was this staged?

this feels like an ed clarke. the man is so solid, like a statue himself, in spite of his awkward pose.

I'm hanging this in my fantasy art gallery
