 An American Alligator (Alligator Mississippiensis) catching some afternoon sun on a warm March day at Brazos Bend State Park, Houston, Texas, USA.

There is very little crop to this photo, I was that close and laying on the ground between this gator and another taking photos of each.

One of my special mentions, I just love this close up, wish the coloring in the way front was gone from it because to me it was a bit distracting, but never the less to get that close or have a telephoto zoom and get this, pretty cool in my eyes
