 TK enjoying the visit from the butterfly. This was a Hoary Comma, Polygonia gracilis The literature about this butterfly tells us the adult can overwinter. This explains the March appearance on a sunny day at 8300'. Not a migrating butterfly, but a survivor!

Would like to see this cropped in a lot closer. All that blue jacket is distracting! Otherwise....lovely girl, lovely butterfly!
