...of all the things to find in a swamp.

[Apr. 12th, 2015 07:10:22 PM]

Just in case anyone was wondering...I did not put the balloon there, it was just there floating around in the middle of this swamp. Streetpigeon nailed it. I was disturbed and delighted all at once. I think if the balloon were any other color, it would not have been so stunning. It was shocking to see this pink blob bobbing around in such a place. Honestly if I could have fished it out, I would have but it was completely unreachable.

The balloon almost detracts in this one. Usually I love abandoned balloons, but the rest is very interesting with nice lines. I'm almost a tad irritated that the balloon is breaking my site line.

Harmony broken. Earth would be better off without us. Poignant image.

The party is over and the remainder entertains the fish. Great reflection.

Sheeesh, it's a good composition.

As soon as I think I've seen all the scary areas, some new jawbone-part or dark mask jumps out.

Without the pink balloon this image is impressive, with its wonderfully convoluted composition and bold emphasis on the long reflection. With it, there's that touch of surprise and whimsy that, for me, lifts it into a less somber realm of delight. It could be considered litter, but we can set that aside to revel in the pleasure it brings. We can even ponder the concept of "litter". Fine photograph. Big smile.

My initial experience with the top of the scene with the pink balloon left me feeling a bit blah, then my eyes got drawn to the monster rising from underneath and kapow - the image was made.

Interesting POV. The balloon certainly adds interest but the clash of colours jars. Perhaps that is the intent here?

It's the tip of the iceberg kinda thing. That lovely touch of pink really brings it home.

It's so weird. I figured it out, and enjoyed the journey. I don't imagine that the picture will feature on any calendars or cake tins, but that's a good thing too. And the title? Freakin' awesome, because it dares the viewer to do a double take. WTF is the balloon about? That's the question with no answer, and yet the balloon is the point.

Most of all I enjoyed the picture because it turns perception upside down, without being too arty about it.

Interesting? You bet! Thank you.

Technically proficient.......MOST pleasing viscerally, and quite thought provoking. Truly with the philosophy. One of my Top 3 picks.
