 After years of trying to get sharp closeups of these skittish bluebirds, I finally figured out the secret: hit it in the face with a house at 20mph. This one smacked into my office window at full speed. I think it grabbed the twig just to steady itself while the world was spinning. It took about four hours, but the little guy finally recovered and flew off.

Clad in lapis lazuli (I think that a touch of a bluish veil here and there would make it more subtle - as such it looks like partial desaturation) Fantastic eye
