This started as a joke and turned into a fun challenge/entry.

The title comes from responding to my wife, who's a bit nervous on the water, but loves it. I'm relearning my sailing skills from younger days and talking about a personal challenge of doing an overnight bare-boat charter to the local Santa Cruz Island.

The 3 reasons are the 3 authors. The image title is a hint.

In 2007 these three were sailing aboard the catamaran "Kaz II" which was found - motor running, no signs of trouble or foul play - with no one aboard. The three sailors were never found and all sorts of theories emerged as to what happened. More details can be found here.

The font is Mona Lisa Solid ITC CC Regular.

Congratulations on the ribbon, I love your creation. It sure does look professional. Also the muted tones works wonder here, and give just the touch of mystery that would me open the book.

I thought this was wonderful. Very calm, yet the lighting adds just a bit of drama. I was actually expecting some sort of thriller or mystery book.

Batten, as he gears up for an independent presidential bid, is trying to be the Ralph Nader of the Sea, but I have to wonder what sort of Populism will be inspired by sailboats? I suppose he's trying to avoid Nader's mistake by cutting into the Republican base instead of the Democratic.
