One of my first real composites, I think I used 6 images for the main picture and one for the knife. Because most parts are quite dark it was easier to blend the images without seeing differences in tones and contrast... I thought.
On the fifth day since voting started I had another look at my image, this time in bright daylight (I'd done all the processing during evenings without any sunlight falling on my screen) and suddenly I saw strange things, differences in black, typical marks of a brush used to mask some parts of one of the images. Checking my photoshop file I discovered I had made all layers visible except one before creating a merged layer. Making that one visible would have made the image perfect. But now it wasn't.

Apparently most voters haven't noticed this flaw in my image and have rewarded my image with great votes. I know I should be happy with the result but at the same time I'm not. It almost feels like cheating. But it's a good lesson for the next Expert Editing challenge.

I really thought this would be in the top five. Nicely done.

Works well for me as a book cover, I would at least read the plot summary and maybe the first few pages. (Cover suggests maybe a bit more horror than I can read, but for fans of the genre I would think this is perfect.)

Carol learned an important lesson. Just because the driver takes your ticket doesn't mean he's going to your destination.

But maybe... just maybe...

she learned this lesson too late.
