So.. Road Signs challenge this week was so boring... NO inspiration. My DPL team liked an image of mine that I didn't like, so I entered it... but I didn't like any of mine very much. *shrugs* Now, it's a 4.8.

I am not amused with myself. *grin*

I'd shot for Graveyard a few days ago. Not much excitement for an of THOSE images either... although my team was quite polite.

So... spurred on by my 4.8 score... I revisited the cemetery again today.

And...

That's when I found her. *gasp*

Sara Frances.

I stood in awe of this sculpture. I imagined Sara Frances' parents' loss... after only fifteen years with her. Imagined their love for her to have this stunning image of her (I assume) with wings created.

The large inscription reads:

Sara Frances
Daughter of
Dr & Mae Reacin Cheney
She came Monday Morning
May 15, 1905
Went away Monday Evening
Oct 11, 1920

What loss a cemetery shows...

I wish I'd captured what the front of the block on the ground said. I didn't notice it until I got home, I was so struck with the workmanship of the statue and the story I imagined of Sara Frances' life.

From the photos, I can read only this:

"Farewells mispoken she calmly [...] to home."

I will go there again and see how she gets to home. *heavy sigh*

I hope we have a happy challenge next week. :D

I know this won't score brilliantly... but I fell in love with Sara Frances and nothing will do but that I enter this for her. :D

Background is a little too over darkened for me. A little highlight in the clouds would have made if feel less over processed.

Went away Monday evening, she did. Didn't live very long but certainly has an elegant tombstone.
