Challenge: Feathers (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D800
Lens: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II
Location: My living room, which is now covered in feathers
Date: Jun 17, 2015
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250
Date Uploaded: Jun 17, 2015

I'm amazed right now at how many feathers fit inside a feather pillow. My wife is going to kill me when she learns what I did to her Pottery Barn throw pillow. I actually killed a down pillow in our spare bedroom as well, but the feathers were tiny. That Pottery Barn pillow had some nice big ones :)

This shot is really dumb, but I like it. I was going for a 'tarred and feathered' thing, so I bought a bunch of mud masks and covered myself in it. The problem with those things is they dry quickly by design, so this turned out way different from how I envisioned it. It looks like a chicken and I had a fight, and the chicken lost.

The cleanup was the worst part. I could live in this place for 20 more years, and when I find feathers (and I think I would, considering how they spread), I'm going to have a good laugh.

This was completely brilliant!! Way to go above and beyond!! HmmmÉ I haven't done this type of thing to my husband yet. He put up with bathing with a lamp in the james river, I wonder whether I could get away with thatÉ :)

Congrats on a spectacular win!

Hilarious! And I know what you mean about the feathers. Did a shoot several years ago and I slaughtered a pillow for it. Still finding feathers....

It's the expression that takes this over the top and yes, it does look as if you and the chicken got into it :) Congratulations on the yellow - wonderful image.

haha cool idea. Would have loved to see the top cracked off the egg as if he just hatched from it lol. Bet you had a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards.
