a pretty plain shot. cropped slightly, inverted, colours and contrast fiddled, and probably a colour swap. all global manipulations in Irfanview.

it was amazing to get so many colours out of it that way.

thanks to f8 and Ricoh.

Based on our conversation in the earlier thread I decided to look at your work and thought I would let you know what I thought of this photograph:

I don't think this is overly processed, it is really well composed and the exposure and focus are really well done. I really like the post processing and it does look artistic but photo realistic in my opinion. This is something you should be proud of and I would hang it on my wall as art for sure.

This is not the type of over processing I was talking about. Good work and good luck.

Just checked and my bump of 1 didn't push you above me, in fact, if I'd have scored it a 1 you'd probably still have beaten me ;)

Congratulations, my tip for the top but guess we were both close lol.

I usually don't like heavy processing except for here. This works so beautifully, like a painting. 9.

excellent use of inversion. I can never get inversion to work this well with this complexity.

An unusually successful color inversion or infrared technique, it seems. Whatever the method, this image brings a new dimension to the scene. and the DOF provided by the venerable f/8 works to bring it together. Bravo!

As a member of DPL's Team Underground, the bling I bestowed during the recent DPL had point value for the highly prized Underward. Now that DPL is over, my bling is "pointless" - as it should be, and has been re-imagined as such. Congratulations, you are among the first recipients of the POLM award. I hope to see some notes about how this was done, for me it is head and shoulders above the other challenge entries (and you have some stiff competition) am guessing lots of work in post?

The background is like a fine painting and whilst I'm not sure about the blacks in the foreground I can't think of how it could be improved.

A bump of 1 means this is my first 10 in September and I expect to see this on the front page at the very least.
