The white tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), also known as the sea eagle, is the 4th largest eagle in the world.

Having been persecuted to extinction in the British Isles a hundred years ago, dedicated conservation work has enabled it to return to some of its former haunts.

The Isle of Mull is a great place to see these magnificent birds.

This bird was captured from a boat on Loch na Keal. I was also lucky enough to put down the camera and watch 2 of these birds dive to catch fish about 30 feet from me and with an 8 foot wingspan they are pretty big yet majestic.

Wow, a top ten free-study image asking for critique. I'll give it my best shot, but clearly this is a good image that the community enjoyed a lot. Nicely done!

For me, what I especially liked about the image was those water drops. Seeing the splash added to the action of the image. Plus the bird is just majestic, quite the beauty, and that shape of the wings made the photo unique to me. I gave this image a 6 during voting, so it was an image I thought was executed and presented very well. The only thing that might have made it stronger for me was had there been more detail in the fish, or had the eagle been facing towards the camera. But still, this is just a fantastic catch. Thanks for sharing.

And another Scotland image. Wonderful capture, have tried it myself a few times, but I can't get it like this one (yet?). Great shot!
