This was one of the about 2 dozen shots I got at this location before my camera went for a swim in the river and my day was cut short.

I have a lot of favorites from this location, but this is my favorite favorite. It's going on my wall for sure, maybe a metal print.

Great comments!

I really do see what you mean about that tighter crop. That helps a lot.

What backdoorhippie said made total sense for me. I scrolled down and felt urged to had an attempt at cropping your image (just from a screen shot). I hope you don't mind, Mike. I just thought I might learn something as well :)

By all means not implying that it is better than the original, but this was a crop that I liked.

It's a wonderful scene, but there's too much pulling my eye away from the waterfall even after I see it. The easiest way to understand what needs to be fixed is to view the entire image and then slowly scroll down to the comments - when 1/3 the image disappears all of a sudden it pops. You could leave it the same width and you'd be fine. 5 as is for me, but there's a 7 or 8 in there.

I understand that the waterfall is a hidden little treasure, which gives me an idea of how nice it probably was to be there in real life, but my initial thought when I first saw the image was as Ja-9 pointed out - the waterfall being secondary to the big rock. The waterfall becomes too hidden in my opinion. That being said I like the nice autum colors and that the images is a different from many other waterfall images :) I'm sure it will look nice on your wall!

I gave you an 8 as I know waterfalls are never appreciated on this site...I don't know why because capturing them isn't a walk in the park!!!

Here is my thoughts (run, run now...)

To me the waterfall is secondary because it is lost in the BG. The rocks in the front are more prominate and not as interesting. If it was my picture (wink) I would have "tried" cropping the top tier of the rocks out (right side - top) and cutting most of the first rock on the left out. Then I would have played with the shadows more because it would be pretty dark...possibly some dodge n burn??? Buy cropping it you would be bringing the waterfall forward and putting it in a better position IMO.
