Greetings from the Critique Club!

COMPOSITION... The composition can be improved by moving in closer to your subject. Try cropping the bottom and top portions of your picture, right up to the cat's body. I find it cuts some of the distraction the background provides, especially in the upper right corner. Its also too bad the face is so obscured -> An angle a little more to the right and/or above may have allowed you to catch more of the face. The cat's body is just a little bit too obscured by the blankets. From what I can see of the cat's face, you did manage to capture a genuine moment, only is a little too hidden.

TECHNIQUE...Contrast, lighting are very good, focus.. it seems to me from the midsection of the cat to the rear is out of focus. try shooting at narrower apertures: That would mean requiring a tripod, but at shutter speeds of 1/10, I hope you're using one already :)

OVERALL.., A good moment, lighting very well done, could just use some more depth of field and less blanket :)

Cute. Shame we can't see more of the cat. Maybe taking the picture from a higher angle would have been better.

Great capture. I love cats and I really like this picture. Has a real peaceful fee to it. Maybe crop out a bit of the top ... little too busy. Still a very nice shot. Jacko. 8

A very blissful piece..the softness of the blanket and the curves of the folds just adds to the compsition..I like the extended paw . It even looks totally relaxed.

This is an absolutely precious little kitten (I think I know who it is - DPChallenge's most photographed tabby) I like that the kitten is all curled up in a blanket that is different levels. If I have to pick, I would say crop out the stuffed animals foot - top right corner. Purr!!!

Makes me want to cuddle just looking at him/her.

Cute! Would make a good "wish you were here" card. :)

if only i could sleep that well. if photography is supposed to be about showing people the world through your eyes, I think this does it well - cliche or not. A longer lens from farther away might highlight the peace on kitty's face, and remove a little distraction. just a thought, not a criticism.

I'm not really intrigued by your photo. The coloring of your cat is okay, but the background is a bit too busy for me. I would like to have seen more of the cat and less of the blanket.

awww, nice shot. will make a nice b&w print for the wall (9) might have went a little higher on the camera angle.

Great shot. Choice of BW works well. I only wich I could see a little more of the cat. Maybe a slightly different angle would have helped this.

Full color, please. Nicely done but personally want to see the color of the beautiful cat. You want him to stand out from the bed.

What a cutie. I really like that you used black and white for this.

Slightly too much background perhaps?
