I was looking at the front page (at the thumbnails), and the clouds combined with the vignette made her appear to have wings! =)
COngrats on the accolades BTW.

Fantastic shot, Paul. Getting the blue in a challenge in which folks can cull through a whole year of images is quite a feat. Congrats on the bling and all the favorites. The sheep are nice subjects, but this model too cute. Nicely done.

Wow I sure didn't expect a result like this.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and bling too.

I have been a bit quiet on here lately due to work and other things leaving me with very little time for photography.

But I plan to make more time for my photography so should be entering plenty more challenges again.

Congratulations, Paul. I'm so glad this got the blue. It's enchanting.

Not surprised Paul it had 'Winner' written all over it as soon as I saw it!!

You sneak into DPC every now and then and grab a ribbon, well done.

You've been POLM'ed.

A startlingly beautiful image. Evocative. New and timeless at the same time. My highest score.

Look at that face, she knows everything not knowing what she knows. Children can look so wise. Perfect capture.

reminds me of Diane Arbus. The way her legs fade off, probably due to vignetting and perhaps lens distortion, make her head and hands seem big (and also because they're brightly lit in a dark scene), and I think that adds to the Arbus effect, at least in my head. She has none of the pain (anomie?) of an Arbus character, though. She seems perfectly happy to be standing where she is. Her expression is one of temporary resolve. She will soon be ready for the next thing. Still, she utterly succeeds as the main character of a photograph, unconsciously heroic, ready to get on her donkey and conquer the world.

Such a haunting, even foreboding, variation on the them of a girl and her pony. Her expression is deliciously enigmatic. I award the Golden Bear Paw to this image.

A secret garden of delights. Well processed with classic look and temperament.. I see (feel) the sparkle in her eyes!

My top pick, processing is perfect, dark moody and ominous, a girl left by herself with a pony without a care in the world!

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. What an ambience you have captured!
2. Wonderful tones
3. Engaging subjects
4. Amazing light
5. Great and confident use of space and how to use it to excellent effect
6. The great vignette, I like how it steers the eye.

Overall, I wouldn't be surprised if this takes the Blue. I suspect it will engage those with conventional photographic tastes as well as those who reward the more eclectic.

She has the look of someone that successfully pinned the tail in the donkey. The tones and contrast give me pleasure.
