Gee GOLLY!

What a ride!

LOL!

I was gone for all but the last day of this challenge. I had NO idea what to shoot. I researched the topic and saw that "Monkeys" are ... uhhh... ummmm... partyers...

I hope I've read the Year of the Monkey correctly... and that this is appropriate for the challenge.

If not... I'm sure I'll hear about it in the comments. I hope I do!

I like all comments... even the ones that tell me that I'm insane for thinking that this meets the challenge topic. ha!

"Intelligent, dignified, optimistic, romantic, sociable, quick-witted, confident, agile, motivator, curious, gregarious"

Okay... so that whole... "dignified" part might... only be in Tucker's imagination... but... he appears to be giving it his all! Ha!

I can't wait for rollover to see whether Tucker's and my score will be a 4.2 or a 6.2!

LOL!

I just hope that the commenters tell me why I scored either way.

*sigh*

Tucker is happy either way... now. (He REALLY liked his treats.)

At first he balked...

Tucker: Mom, I am NOT going to do that. I am... NOT... WEARING THAT.

Me: Ok. But... Look at this, Tucker. It's a... rather... large... piece of chicken. You do know how chicken tastes, right...?

Tucker: Ok. I'll wear that. But... I'm not DOING that. Final Answer.

Me: It's FRIED chicken. Almost a whole gram of it.

Tucker: DANG! I'm IN!! What do I have to do?

Me: *nods confidently*

I love my life.

And... Tucker loves his.

Life... It's good. Right?

Greetings from the Critique Club.

First off I love knowing I can say pretty much whatever I am thinking and it'll be okay. So thanks.

And second for the critique...

When I was voting I was very open with what I thought could relate to Year of the Monkey. I tried to do a bit of reading but still did not feel I could really judge what did or did not meet the challenge. That said a New Year is brought in with major partying all over the world it seems, so a party animal definitely fits the challenge in my mind.

Creatively I loved this. Tutu was wonderful and the dog's expression is priceless. Too bad the little guy couldn't dance on his own, the hand distracted a bit even though it made sense in the context of a dance.

I thought the technicals of the image were great. I gave the image a 6 during voting. The sharpness of the dog's face and gentle blur of the background I found very pleasing. I did not find anything bothersome in the processing. The colors of the flowers added significantly to my enjoyment of this.

So sorry I'm not sophisticated enough to really understand in this case how this ended up with a score below 5. I guess maybe others had strict ideas of what did and did not meet the challenge. I admit some of my top pics had more of a Chinese ring to them, but the technical image worthiness to your shot seemed to help your rise above others in my mind.

Keep shooting. Glad to have you around here!

It's dog in a monkey show. I see no homage to the challenge theme at all. Also, there is something a little too crunchy about the processing where the dog is concerned, a personal taste thing for me...looks a little too HDRish to my eye. 3

Love the expression, lol. Twinkle Toes. Looks like a Lydia shot, if not then consider a compliment.

This made my laugh out loud. Great shot. The skirt, the expression on his face ;-)) Priceless... ;-)

May your life go smoothly. I'm enjoying the "twist".

This image is rediculous! Do you really have a tutu?

The spirit of the monkey is (perhaps cruelly!) embodied by the dog. So kudos! You have done better than most people. The image itself does not appeal to me all that much. Still, it's monkeylike!

Your dog does not look amused!
