A Great Egret (Ardea Alba) comes in over the trees as two Neotropic Cormorants (Phalacrocorax Brasilianus) cautiously watch at Smith Oaks Rookery, High Island, Texas, USA.

Back to my normal wildlife photographs for the free study even tho it seems my other styles do so much better.

Taken with my 150mm ƒ2.0 lens plus a 2x TC, giving me an effective 600mm of reach at ƒ4.0.

jim29028 It is flying towards the camera and actually landed next to the other two birds. Good to see another Olympus shooter...

Hello from the Critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the free challenge

A great silhouette. The bird in flight is very intriguing in that it could be flying towards or away from the scene so thanks for your comments which clarify that it is coming towards us, but somehow it feels more complete to imagine it flying away with the two birds passively watching its departure. This interpretation makes the two birds even more appealing their profiles and sharpness being a contrast to the softness of the flying birds wings. I think I would be tempted to remove the large twig and loose feathers of the flying bird to improve the overall impact.

A great score and placing, well done Ronnie

Nice silhouettes, this is a calming image for me, the two birds to the right looking expectant at the return. Looking at this more not sure if the flying bird is coming or going, I'm assuming going away. Nice image.
