Part of a Buddhist celebration. One person will volunteer and show full devotion to the god. He will each time they stop on a given place, hurt himself on his forehead with a kind of sword with needles and do this many times along the procession. I saw it many times during the years here in Taiwan already, but never took pictures of the bloody people and I think that it's maybe gore to show it that way, but it's a good representation of how it really is. The person is in complete trance.

wow. A movie still just begging for more of the story.
this is worth a breaking rad award. I'll post it later.
ETA:

Further- even the composition and motorcycles in the distance add to the interest and drama here.

not sure what I'm seeing here, makes me think of a crime scene or an accident, dramatic and authentic are two words that come to mind, disturbing is another
