Eniko thanks for the nice comment. Since you asked I will tell you the story behind the man. It's quite funny actually because this man often walks past my house, sometimes twice a day, quite slowly as he seems very very old, it's awesome that he gets out and about though. I've often thought I'd like to take a photo of him, as he has one of those classic faces with all the creases and expression, you know what I mean. ..so when this challenge came up I thought wow I know just the man I'm going to take a
photo of. ..
now I need to rewind a little, approximately around one week before I took this photo of this Gentlemen (who will remain nameless, well you see I actually forgot to ask him his name, and I wasn't even sure if I could understand him anyway as he speaks very little English) anyway he was walking past my house smelling
my roses and then looking at a particular plant which has beautiful fuschia coloured flowers, (sorry I don't know the name of that also as a friend of mine gave it to me as a cutting) so I snapped a bit off for him to take home, and then he gestured with his hand something like putting it in the ground, I said to him "no you can't
just plant in the ground you need a seed" I bent down picked up a flower which had a big bulging black seed protruding from the top of it and gave it to him. He gave me a big smile and I was happy and he was happy, and then he waved and said goodbye. That
was probably actually the only time I had a decent conversation with him in all the years I've seen him walk by. I wondered how many other people stop to talk to him. Everybody is always so busy with their lives and never actually stop to smell the roses like this guy actually did.
Fast forward one more week. I think it was the second or third day after this challenge was announced, I saw him walk by again, as I
had already planned this photo shoot in advance without him
knowing of course, I had my camera ready on my dining table rushed out as quick as I could, of course I didn't have to rush that
fast because this guy obviously doesn't walk very fast. I proceeded to point the camera at him and ask him if I could take a photo of him. He said 'yes', how exciting, so I took around five photos and
picked the best one, and here it is. Now I have a new friend.
