For anyone who hasn't shot with one of these, those warnings about them being fire hazards are real. This was my first time using one and after setting it on a piece of drift wood there was a spiral of smoke rising in about 5 seconds - not even enough time for me to get in position to take a shot. If you shoot with one of these in open sun, DO NOT place it on anything that can burn - it will.

I almost caught my deck on fire by putting one on the railing of my deck. What a surprise when I saw the smoke! BTW, awesome shot!

Congrats on tt. Lovely shot. I have had a similar experience with one of those spheres. I put it down on a wooden picnic table and almost immediately got a spiral of smoke and left a little charred spot. I hadn't yet set it up for shooting, in fact I put it down because it burnt my hand.

Congrats on the TT finish and also for the tip about the potential danger of these glass balls. I will be careful not to leave mine on top of any bank notes in sunlight.
