Sagamore Farms. Baltimore County

[Jun. 23rd, 2016 04:32:41 PM]

I am thrilled that my entry was received so well. I love driving in the Maryland countryside. There are beautiful farms galore. I was coming home from playing golf and decided to drive through one of my favorite areas called Worthington Valley. I have driven it a thousand times and see something new each time. On one of the pastures I saw a man riding a horse and decided to drive out past him, stop the car, and try to get a picture. I took a right turn onto the street that passes along Sagamore Farms. It is the racing stables for great Maryland racehorses like Native Dancer, Bed O'Roses and Discovery. The rider passed by and I was not able to get the shot I was imagining. I drove a short distance further on this road to look at the horses in the luxurious fenced pastures. There was a gated driveway to the right. I looked up the driveway and saw the red Antique Ford pick up truck parked on the side. Excitedly I pulled over to the side got out of the car and shot a few pictures. At first, I wasn't sure if I would use the picture in the challenge because I was imagining a picture of a barn as satisfying the challenge. Changed my mind and decided to take my chances because I really like the image. Glad I did!

So glad my favourites took the ribbons. Wish there could be two blues but hey, this is super photography, who cares about the colour of the ribbon?

Congratulations on the red. Lovely shot. That fence is fabulous. It sure beats the old barbed wire that surrounds the farms around here.

Sigh, I LOVE THIS, as soon as I saw it! This is so cookie cut PERFECT for the challenge. A real delight to look at, almost too good to be true! I adore the classic white fence, the rolling hills, the trees, the lawn mowed in straight lines, and who can not mention the classic red vintage car, which pops and gives contrast...where did that come from, would love to know, is it yours??

If this doesn't win, I'll protest for you :-)

SUCH a PERFECT image for the challenge topic.

Seems just a tad bit... "too perfect" though... so that throws me off a bit.

The convenient side parking for the perfect old truck... the precision mowing of the hill...

I wish it weren't so "perfect"... and I... cringe when I say that.

*sigh*

Yet still... it's one of my favorites of the gallery.

It's totally lovely.
