For those folks who asked "Why March?", in the United States, we have an expression that "March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb".

For those who asked about the lens, It was only the second photo I took with my new SONY 1.7x teleconverter. Shot at full optical zoom, aprox 325mm.

I can only imagine how intense this shot would be if he was looking directly into the lens. Great clarity and DOF. In fact it's almost too sharp (not oversharpened...) and might be improved by just a touch of soft focus effect.

I like the deeper thought: "come in like a lion..." Well done, nice job filling the frame.

I think I would have chosen August (Leo). Great shot. The only distraction I see is the crop. The crop seems a little tight on the top. Since the lion is known for the mane, I would have liked to see enough to frame the face.

Nice long lens or your one brave photographer! Great focus and DOP. I like the close crop and it would fit wonderful on a wildlife calendar. Good job.

very nice lion, was it taken in a zoo? I only ask cuz he doesn't have many scars? maybe he is a young lion.

That's a fantastic capture. How close were you or how big a telephoto were you using? This would have done very well in the wildlife challenge.

Like the crop to focus on his wonderful face. Good depth of field too. March went out like a lion...

This is a great shot of a lion, good colours and sharpness, I love it. However I donĀ“t get how march is connected with a lion. I would rather have put this under july or august as the constellation mark "leo" is in those two monts.

He is GORGEOUS!!! Good one for March. In like a lamb out like a lion. The tones are very natural looking, the dof is perfect revealing his texture. I love everything about this. 10
