 Finally, I encountered a herd of bighorn sheep. This ram was spectacular. A good guess would be 10 years old, according to annular rings on his horns. He only shows up during this time of year, during their rutting season. The herd consisted of 30 sheep from yearlings to this mature ram and many ewes and younger males, too. They were enjoying the relative peace and quiet of the Big Thompson Canyon (above Drake) w/o traffic. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM. 1/800s@f/4.5, ISO 800, lens focal length 400mm, handheld. 11/22/16 1:45pm.
