So... my first entry in 2017 and the first "real" entry in a couple of months (vs a found one for hidden gem).
It was, of course, the last night and I wanted to enter something, but was extremely lazy and didn't want to create something.
The Christmas tree was still up (and still is, btw), so I tried taking a quick shot of one my my interesting ornaments. But I could tell that was going to be quite dull. So I played around with longer exposures.
I actually liked this one quite a bit. This monitor still isn't calibrated well, so it looks much better on here than on my laptop, etc. The browns in the background are rich and deep.
Anyway, it reminded me of sparks from a fire. Which reminded me of the fire that my mother-in-law always have when we go home for visits. A big, wonderful fire place, that always has a gorgeous fire going.
It reminds me of watching the Norwegian yule log channel. If you haven't watched it, you really need to watch it next Christmas. Simply multiple days of a fire, burning in a fireplace. The excitement is when you catch them putting in a new log or stoking the fire. :)
My son made eagle scout in 2016 and the awards ceremony is still coming up in february of this year. And my husband is a scout leader. This makes me think of all the myriads of campfires they have seen and I have seen over the years.
I was wondering if anyone would comment on the title. As I was looking at this and thinking fire this quote kept coming to mind: "For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward. -Job 5:7" Somehow, with the start of this new year, that also seemed to fit!
Anyway, it was interesting watching the score. In the middle of the week, I thought I might even get my first 3!
