On the east side of the continental divide, this mature bull moose browsed willows in 4º windless sunshine. Moose do drop their antlers months before the elk drop their antlers. He was somewhat shy and did not give me an unobstructed view. It was my choice to avoid approaching this guy. I'll know where to look next time. He'll return for the yummy willow tips. The snow was hip deep. He was able to move easily through the snow. I struggled to pull my boots up from the postholes. January 17, 2017, 9:04am.
