Ah well. I didn't want to create fake weather outside to look like real weather (hose and umbrella). And the last couple of days of the challenge (yes, of course I waited until last minute) were bright and blue and cloudless. I really couldn't think of anything to do with that to make it say weather.

So I tried to see what I could do that would obviously "say" weather, without really trying to fool people. Yet be able to enter something with a staged shot.

So I had it rain inside. It was supposed to be a leaking roof. I wanted pails and pans around and a wider shot, but I just couldn't get it to look right.

It made a huge mess on the table. I had the lights set up, and my son had a beer bottle with water on the right and I had a milk bottle with water on the left. Set the timer and poured.

I wasn't happy with where the streams were, but it was way too much of a mess to reshoot.

I'm glad that some people enjoyed the idea. I'm also impressed with the people who continually attempt out of the box photos at DPC. I didn't think this was that out of the box, yet it was hard seeing the 1s, 2s and 3s come in. They sink you so fast in these days of few voters. It still ended up being a fine score, but it really made me appreciate the people who try to stretch the challenge but still stay somewhat within the boundaries. 2-3 ones with this many votes can drop you by .3 overall. And that's just with 2 or 3 low votes.

So my hats off to those who continually try to push the boundaries. It's hard to do and hard to watch. But it's a great challenge and I got a lot more comments that I would have with my boring blue sky. :)

So kudos to the brave and foolhardy. And thanks to the family members that put up with messes!

Go DPC!

(and thanks for the comments. :)
