 I met a group of sled dogs on a frozen lake in Lake Placid. They were extremely social and loved attention.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the open challenge

Welcome to DPC Christopher! As a dog lover your image is bound to appeal to me, however, the timing could be better. It’s true what they say, ‘the eyes are the gateway to the soul’ and when they are closed as they are here the soul is inaccessible which is a real shame as this would definitely give your shot more impact. Whilst your focus is good on the closed eye the DOF is perhaps a little too shallow at maximum aperture, something like f4 would have given us a nice crisp line of his head against the snow without defining the background too much. Anyway, lots of potential to come we look forward to more from you soon.
