Yes there really is such a thing as Papyrophobia, the irrational fear of paper. For some people it is crumpled paper that gets to them. Others have different permutations of the phobia.

Perhaps even harder to imagine is Paperphilia, the inordinate appreciation of or obsession for paper. That's listed on the internet too.
