 Turns out that one does not have to go to India to witness Holi, the annual Hindu festival of Spring. This one happened only 25 miles from my home

Something like this could be done in camera by zooming in or out during a longish exposure, but at the time I did not think of it, and it probably would not look as good, albeit perhaps more "natural". So at the risk of disappointing some of you, I confess that it was done in Photoshop using radial blur filter and mixing/masking it with the original photo in the center and a few places where other faces were (with reduced opacity). Here is the original photo (which I also quite like :))
