My first ever (partially) flashlight entry in DPC. I tried to emulate the light coming from the setting sun. My flash gun was in front of me with the head in a vertical position and the light bouncing of the white painted sloping roof.

Any comments to improve the set-up (with regards to the use of a single flash gun) would be appreciated.

Wow, my second Blue. Didn't expect it since my score dropped from 7.00 to 6.70 in the last 16 hours.Thank you all for you nice comments and your voting.

And for Lydia: that green thing on my belly is just a print on the t-shirt.

I'm back (again) to tell you that I really, REALLY love it that you fooled me into thinking that you'd put yourself there after the fact.

Well done all 'round!

Excellent Kees! I can't help with the flash lighting, but the rest of the image is stunning and beautiful! Congrats on your 2nd Blue.

So wonderful! I'm thrilled that this ribboned for you! (Sorry about the score drop. That stinks... but it happens a bunch to me, too)

Thanks for the green thing explanation. :D

I think shifting the color on you to better match the warmer tones of the sunset would have blended the two better :)

Thanks tanguera, I already adjusted the temperature of the painter by adding 'warmth', but I guess it could have pushed a bit further.

I really like this but to me it's 2 photos both of which are good. The painter alone would make a terrific photo and the coastline and lighthouse are another good shot. Together my eye jumps back and forth.

Hard to beat this composition for creativity and realism. Sharp as a tack, incredible light and detail. I love it 10
