Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge well.
A great portrait Susan. Excellent use of low key technique, it gives a gritty impression like someone who has emerged from underground labour, he has a determined confident look about him. This really is a minor point but given the low-key nature of the portrait I do find his stubble highlighted rather more than I would like but its not a major issue at all.
On a personal note I’m so pleased for you that your relationship is improving, try to be open-minded as you can, I’m sure the things that you found so attractive before are all still there waiting to be enjoyed again… |

I think this is a strong portrait, warts and all, It shows to me the essence of a Hard working man, who has seen a lot in his life time
