So I wasn't familiar with really any of the photographers. And, of course, I left it until the last minute. I really wanted to enter something, but they all seemed to be basically photo journalism. And this is really a pretty boring town for that.

So it was the last day, I was desperately looking through the photographers. And then I came across Trent Parke. And there was a statement saying that he was always chasing the light.

I had something! I had gone to the river with my husband and the morning light was so perfect. Instead of playing in the water with Jeff and Corey, I plopped down on the sand with my cell phone. I hadn't brought my camera. I wasn't intending on taking photos. But the light and the situation was just too good to pass up. I brought the images over on the computer and tried to play up exactly what I was seeing. Gorgeous morning light.

Thank you for the comments! It was a morning of just sheer joy. If you want to lose yourself in happiness, watch an 8 month old puppy play. :)

Congrats on the ribbon, Wendy. i didn't do my homework for this challenge, so didn't enter, didn't vote. But I still appreciate this as a beautiful, and engaging photo.

I didn't vote on this challenge because as I looked through Magnum's site. I realized I was totally ignorant about these famous people and wouldn't be able to come close to their works.

I'm not sure if it's just the processing I like on this image, or the image itself. I think it's the former. In fact I know for sure it is the former. I've looked up Trent Parke's work and it's astonishing it's brilliant it absorbs the mind, he's probably one of the better photographers on Magnum to be sure and to emulate him is a rather difficult task, I don't think you have achieved that brilliance, in my humble opinion. Still nevertheless a good try.
