Greetings from the Critique Club!
Ahhh yes, yet another victim of whatever foibles wander the DPC voter mind...*sigh* If it's any consolation, you beat my entry by miles! ...even worse, imnsho, when pp tricks like inverting are used. Like you I find the restrictions of the Minimal ruleset to be a little aggravating. However that also means that having a tighter set of rules to work with means having to put a lot more thought into a capture. The basic composition is fine, the focus sharp and lots of detail. Good settings though a shutter speed of 1/1600 seems a bit high to me...it's a building, not a rodeo bronc!
I think the main reason this image did poorly was because it isn't quite big enough to be a true architecture shot, and also the vertical crop - that means voters have to scroll up and down to see the image in full and impact is lost.
Hope this helps, feel free to PM me
Susan
