I was leaving the picture before I left the frame,
but you caught me before that, trying to be a shadow
but with pale face and hands, a man with no name,
a place with no home, off the clock and on the go.

Go, a love poem.

"You don't smile when you see me any more,"
she said laughing, that turned to a cough.
And he nodded, with tears welling up.

"You don't kiss me anymore when we meet,"
she repeated this phrase...
He looked out the window.

"You don't stay with me as long as you used to,"
she sputtered, and her tone got serious.
he thought of excuses and then cried, "I'm here now!"

"You need to leave- the sun is shining, and the day is new,"
She said these words clearly and with empathy.
He shook his head in a futile protest.

"Go," she said.
And with that, he stood up, and left the cemetery,
the grieving was over, the memories remained.
