I can't believe I said that. When I look back at it now, I realise how brilliant it is.

Wow! Well thought, well executed, with just enough contrast and a very good composition. Very impressive!

FIRST IMPRESSION : WAOWWWWW, that's going to be a tough one

COMPOSITION : First I'd like to compliment for the creativity and the imagination for this challenge. That's so .. I do not know ...
Perfect use of negative space, perfect tones in whites and light greys. I would not have wanted a pure white background. It has a reminiscence of like a greek statue , not in the position obvisously but in the tone and the textures.
I do not know if it's intended but my eyes are attracted by the eye of the boy.

TECHNIQUE : Nothing to say but I can guess that catching correctly the light and the still present details. I am impressed by the details we can see with such tones and in that resolution.

Global impression :
Sorry, I susually try to comment a little more but this is so outstanding in the picture itself, the challenge, the imagination to do it that I am a little speechless.
If one day I do not like that ... that would justify all the pictures that were just 'ok' that I might have done.

At the top of the top.

The first thing that sprung to mind when I saw the Waldo challenge was of a painted person in front of a similarly painted background. I painted my son white which was the undercoat for all the designs. I took a few silly pictures while he was still white and started painting the final designs on him. I never liked any of the final pictures with all the designs and started fooling around with one of the white ones. The original wasn't striking in anyway, quite awful in fact. I played with levels, curves and saturation in photoshop 7 and was quite surprised how it came out. I liked it and since I never came up with anything else that week I entered it thinking that either it would be well received or a dismal failure.

Very different but not what I personally think the challenge was all about. He's not very well hidden. Good, unique, and different shot. Well done, but just doesn't meet the challenge in my opinion.

Stunning. I assume you didn't paint him, so I guess this effect is mostly achieved via levels. Can't wait for the 'How I did it'. Congratulations!

Nice work - I love the embossed feeling this image has. You've washed the image out perfectly. Also your composition is wonderful - it gives the child an isolated kind of feeling. Great pic - best I've seen so far and definitely a chance for a ribbon.
