 Photographer's Notes
This is the Pioneer Square Transit Tunnel in Seattle. I shot it previously for a triptych challenge years ago.

I thought of it again when I was planning my "Inside" shot. For this particular photo, I sat off to the side of the boarding area intending to shoot the far wall. I put a neutral density filter on to extend exposure times to blur people on the far platform and set up a seven-shot bracket sequence intending to HDR the result.

The shortest exposure was about 4 seconds, the longest around 30 seconds. In the middle of the sequence, a train pulled in and disgorged its passengers. Spoiling my intent. I shot it again when the train departed.

But when I put the original sequence through Photomatics, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I liked the blurred passengers. And I liked seeing the reflections of people in the windows.

Post Processing
1) Composite and tone map 7 RAW originals (Photomatix)
2) Remove a couple of spots (PSCC18 healing brush)
3) Bring up the blacks (PSCC18 Levels)
4) Resize and sharpen (PSCC18 high pass filter)
5) Save for Web (PSCC18)

whattha .. i seriously thought this image would either ribbon or come in the top 5 ..
just goes to show that i really have no idea .. but i know what i like ..
and to me this was one of the standout images in this challenge .. sorry it didnt get what it deserved .. :(
