Thanks to all the commenters here.

I considered calling this something like 'worlds collide' in acknowledgement of the corporate building looming above. Seems like that building has both hurt and helped me, depending on the commenter - well I liked it :P, so that's what matters I guess.

The shot is fairly ordinary in colour hence the black and white, I think it makes it seem more imposing. Once again, thanks for commenting, and thanks for my best score yet.

Dramatic angle and sky. The other building showing in the background really distracts me though.

This is such a beautiful B&W. The tonality is amazing. A very well balanced fine exposure.
Excellent work.

The high rise in the back ground gives a nice contrast between past and present. Nice shot.

Great contrast, a little central but very nice exposed. Great pic.

Great angle/prespective on this one, and love the smokey sky around. Too bad the building on the right interfears with the whole mood of the shot. B&W works well on this shot also. Still good work.

Would be an awesome photo if not for the big building behind it but not much you can do about that.

A simply stunning piece of architectual photography. Very interesting juxtaposition of eras, also!

Strong image, certainly. The obvious comment is about the tower building - and I'm not sure your placing of it relative to the cathedral and the frame is going to go down well here. I like it though - there's a wackiness ot it, a non-obviousness, but I think it's pretty effective. The strength of the centred positioning of the cathedral, and the symmetry of this view that makes it such a strong subject for a central placement, amkes it almost possible for the eye completely to ignore the presence of the tower: and then it registers, and the dpc-brain goes 'what were you thinking?' - but it is that initial look, and then that sudden, shocking presence of tthe tower, that gives this a most wonderful impact. Genuinely surprising, genuinely effective, and genuinely communicative of the modern urban world. Great work, indeed.

Move the office building and I think this is awesome. Maybe the old vs. the new works in some sense here, but I don't like the way the office building goes right up against the cathedral. I really like the b/w.

Very nice tones. The only thing that distracts is the building in the background. I was geting an old school feeling but that modern building brought me back to reality : )

This works well in black and white. Beautiful photo. I wish there were something in the title to acknowledge the big modern skyscraper looming in the background.

I like the subject and the b /w treatment. The centered composition works because of the building to the right and the square format fits the subject. You have done a good job on this one.
