Very cool shot! Love all the various color tones - kind of like a maelstrom of emotions swirling around in the water. Great lighting and the tilted angle gives it even more emotive punch.

Its not technically excellent but, what's that got to do with it?

I doubt that you ever thought his would win any medals. Its what it does for you and others that counts. Water is one of my favorite subjects and I'm forever trying to capture how it makes me feel. This comes pretty close I can tell you.

Pictures like this make it worthwhile.

I don't know which came first; the soul in the image and it spoke, or the soul spoke and puts it into the image. Either way, this is what photography is all about. Like poetry, I can keep looking at this and read your words and continue to see new facets to turn over.

an awesome photo but overall a little soft.. i know its a longer exposure but there doesnt seem to be a main focal point.

don't get me wrong: the photo has impact and emotion and I liked your explanation of it. good work. i like your stuff.

Great photo and even better comment. I've been going through some very hard times lately and completely understand how you feel. I can't wait until the river of my life reaches the sea.

I like it a lot, the green streaking in the back against the blue and white of the water is conflicting. A bit less blur in some select areas of the angelhair effect to show the bubbling water (like in the center left area of water) would add to the conflict. Great job with including the texture of the tree! Very artistic.

I think it's a bit too calm and soothing to be called Rage. But again, it's just my opinion. Nice photo nonetheless.

This is good!! Am adding this to my favourites, cos it's an image I want to come back to! The colours, the light on the water, the turbulent calmness.....I really like it!

Lovely photo, Scott. I'm glad it helped to calm you. I like how the tree looks still against the water and the neat lighting on the water. Today, I just couldn't get the lighting right on a picture I was taking for yellow and it made me feel really upset and frustrated - it's good to know that photography can be soothing, too.

This is a really great photo. I really like the comment i think that both the photo and comment go together really well. Love the mood of softness on the image but at the same time the rage of the river. great shot you got here. Sometimes you shoot just to shoot but in this case you had a thought about the image it self. Very good.
I would like to see more of this type of thing image and mood.
Keep it up.

Very cool, I can see the rage you speak of in the river and recognize that it flows to sea to eventual calm. Great use of our hobby to sooth the savage beast.

This is rather cool. May I ask what type of filter you used allow such a long shutter time?
