When I saw the subject title, I couldn't resist point out just how "elusive" this subject -- or verb -- could be.

In the dark, so I used flash; Exposure Compensation -2/3; tone curve; USM applied twice at 66%/0,6 dia/TH=5; JPEG = 8/10

I think there were some clock photos working along the same (unsuccessful) line ... I knew where this would end up. But for me, the door was opened when the challenge description included NO examples, but only the adjective "ethereal"

I didn't have tome to organize and try my other variation on this idea ... hands blurred as they wind up a ball of knitting yarn.

You win the prize for correctly identifying the largest number of weaknesses : )

I have reasons/excuses for all of them which I won't bore you with.

Please don't. Visual puns make me want to kill people.

First a new camera, then a bigger hard drive ... maybe all of you who actually liked the "out of the box" thinking can chip in to buy me a Kevlar vest ...

NICE PLAY ON WORDS. YOU HAVE USED YOUR CREATIVE THINKING AND HAVE SWAYED AWAY FROM THE TYPICAL FLAG IN THE WIND SHOT.

Funny. I see you understand how to move in the challenge's grey area. You should have used another light source. The direct flash creates shadows hich are to hard, and aggressive highlights. Also, you might have taken water as background. I hope this helps.

Sorry, but this is a pretty dull image...not worth adding letters to the theme to make it fit.

I really like your interpretation of this challange however find the background very distracting and negatively impacting the image for me.
