This was an emotional challenge for me. I lost a baby boy (Michael Eugene II) April 14, 2000 in the second trimester of pregnancy. I felt the way the title states when I first found out that his heart had stopped beating. I know he is with God, but at the time I didn't want to let him go.

I had my boy hold up a cross and shine a light behind the cross to give it the glow look and I put the rattle and binky on black poster board and had a defused spot light shining on them. It was a challenge to get the lighting just right.

I am not sure it will do very good. It might be to emotional for some. I would say 5.0 or under.

I was looking back at some of my photos, wondering if I could make them better and how. I don't think I could do anything to the shot to make it better. I like it just the way it is.

You're so welcome. I am sorry for your loss. I know it has been awhile, but the pain can come back. Has she tried to get pregnant since? Wish you all the best! (hug)

Wow, awesome shot, Sonifo. God is good. Before Travis was conceived, I prayed that if he would not glorify God, may he not even exist. As hard as it was to lose one, you can rest knowing he is with God, and you will meet him some day.

The concept is outstanding. I almost went right by it, but then it hit me. Something with more stopping power in the foreground and a contrived arrangement would have made this a really good image.

Very stylized shot with not-so-subtle hints. tells a story.

This picture realy catched me. Although I looked at it several times I still feel a shiver. The submission needs the title, which is very strong. Compared to the other "death of a child"-submission in this one I can feel the feeling of the parents much stronger.
Technicaly it is a great picture too, only the cross could be a tad brighter. Not too much of course, it should stay in the back, but I had a hard time seeing at the beginning. Light, color-choice, sharpness etc. are all great.
My favorit this time.

This picture is great - evocative and emotional. The blue tint screams "depression, despair", the title and the barely lit cross provide the contextual cues. It makes my heart ache to think about it.
